Clermont
Home base for our team here at The Nwin Group, the city of Clermont holds a special place for us. It is located just west of Orlando with a population of about 46,000. Only 35 minutes from downtown Orlando and 35 minutes from Walt Disney World, it is a great place to settle down in and still have quick access to our major attractions.
For the most part, Florida’s region is pretty flat. We don’t have mountains and we pride ourselves with our beautiful beaches and springs. What’s surprising to most people when they visit Clermont is seeing the rolling hills showcasing some of the best scenic views in central Florida and providing an environment for athletes which makes it the perfect home to the National Training Center. The NTC is a warm-weather training facility for hundreds of highschool, collegiate, professional and amateur athletes from around the country and the world. We also have many trails throughout the city that the community takes full advantage of. Many times, you’ll see runners, bicyclists and families out and about. And not only do our hills get a lot of traction, but so do our waterways. From boating to kayaking and sailing, there’s always life happening at our local lakes and canals.
Our city has seen a lot of expansion in the last couple of decades and has brought many annual events that we love. First Friday Food Trucks is a community favorite bringing us local food trucks to our downtown every first friday of the month and it’s become one of our personal favorites.. Some other beloved events are Pig on the Pond in the fall, Light up Clermont during Christmas and Sips and Salsa in the summer along with many more. We’ve also had a variety of new food options sprout throughout the area with some of our local favorites including Clermont Brewing Company, Montrose Street Market and many other locally owned spots.
Talking about food, you’ve got to pair it with wine and we’re so lucky to have the top winery in Florida. With our warm weather, Lakeridge Winery offers tastings and tours throughout the year along with many events, concerts and festivals. It’s easily one of the first stops you’ve gotta make when moving here.
Another first you’ve gotta visit when moving to Clermont is our beloved Citrus Tower. It was arguably the biggest landmark in Florida before Walt Disney World opened in 1965. Originally surrounded by orange groves, it is an incredible monument and tribute to Central Florida’s citrus industry. This probably ranks #1 in our list of places to check out when you move here.
All in all, life here in Clermont is pretty quiet with a diverse community and outdoor lifestyle and our rapidly growing sister town of Minneola shares many of the same qualities. If you’d like to learn more about the community here and what buying a home in the area would look like, please contact our team. We can’t wait to meet you!
